About The Role The Credit Officer / Account Officer is responsible for managing a portfolio of loan accounts by assessing credit applications, conducting financial analysis, preparing credit recommendations, and monitoring account performance. The role helps ensure sound lending decisions, supports business growth through new loan generation, and proactively manages portfolio risks while maintaining strong client relationships.

What You'll Do

  • Evaluate loan applications, conduct credit analysis, and prepare credit recommendation and approval memoranda (CRAM) for endorsement and approval.
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of loan accounts by identifying new business opportunities and maintaining existing client relationships.
  • Monitor borrowers' financial performance, conduct account reviews and site visits, and assess ongoing creditworthiness.
  • Handle potentially problematic accounts by implementing remedial management actions and coordinating with legal, collections, and recovery teams.
  • Present credit recommendations to approving bodies and respond to client inquiries, requests, and concerns regarding loan facilities.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in credit analysis, commercial or corporate banking, lending, relationship management, or portfolio management.
  • Strong financial statement analysis, credit evaluation, and risk assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of balancing business development objectives with prudent risk management.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Has experience evaluating commercial or corporate loan facilities and preparing credit approval packages.
  • Skilled in analyzing financial statements, cash flows, industry trends, and borrower risk profiles.
  • Comfortable presenting credit recommendations to senior management and credit committees.
  • Proactive in monitoring portfolio quality and addressing emerging credit concerns.
  • Possesses strong relationship management skills and a customer-focused approach while maintaining disciplined credit standards.
