Account Executive - Higher Education

About This Role

An Account Executive for the Higher Education vertical is responsible for driving net new business within a defined territory of higher education institutions. This role involves proactively working with both existing customers and prospects to achieve quota targets, building strategic relationships with key stakeholders, and aligning institutional needs with the company's products and services.

Responsibilities

• Create a blueprint of the territory, mapping a path to goal by looking at which renewals have the highest potential for growth and which prospects have the best areas of opportunity
• Blueprint new decision makers within existing accounts or in net new accounts to pursue conversations with
• Be a strategic thought partner, helping stakeholders achieve their safety and prevention goals by aligning the institution to new and/or additional products and services
• Proactively work a set territory of higher education institutions to hit net new quota target
• Generate new opportunities both by working with the SDR team and by blueprinting/prospecting individually
• Build strategic/thought partner relationships with key stakeholders to uncover institutional initiatives and problems to map back solutions, creating demand for products and services
• Forecast and accurately track account activity through the stages of the sales process in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
• Maintain a strong understanding of offerings and services and proactively identify solutions and opportunities that address key needs
• Support the development of marketing strategies for partners
• Other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in net new business sales (either pure new business or by upselling/growing accounts); 4 years of experience preferred
• Ability to travel up to 25% of time
• Experience working with higher education institutions is preferred
• Experience using MS products and Salesforce CRM is preferred
