About This Role

Leading integrated communications programs for some of Australia’s most recognisable consumer brands is the core of this senior role at Herd MSL. The position suits someone who thrives at the intersection of earned media, influencer strategy, brand storytelling, and cultural relevance.

Responsibilities

• Lead key consumer accounts and build strong senior client relationships.
• Provide proactive strategic counsel to senior marketing and communications stakeholders.
• Guide clients through brand launches, seasonal campaigns, issues, and reactive moments.
• Turn brand objectives into compelling communications ideas that resonate with consumers.
• Shape earned-led consumer communications strategies designed to cut through culture.
• Lead integrated media and influencer campaigns from idea through to execution.
• Oversee media relations across lifestyle, entertainment, consumer, news, and trade media.
• Develop messaging and narratives that bring brands to life in an authentic way.
• Ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
• Lead influencer strategy and execution, including talent selection, briefing, content alignment, amplification, and measurement.
• Integrate influencer activity with earned media and broader campaigns.
• Help shape social-first ideas, platform-native content, and creator-led storytelling.
• Lead, coach, and develop account teams.
• Mentor team members and support their career development.
• Contribute to new business, credentials, and agency thought leadership.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating at Account Director level within PR or communications.
• A strong background in consumer communications, earned media, and brand-led campaigns.
• Strong influencer experience, including talent management, briefing, content alignment, and performance evaluation.
• Confidence advising senior stakeholders.
• Deep knowledge of the Australian media landscape, particularly lifestyle, entertainment, consumer, and national media.
• Experience using AI tools to enhance strategy, insights, content development, media planning, or workflow efficiency.
• Strong commercial and financial account management skills.
• A calm, solutions-focused approach under pressure.
• A collaborative, proactive mindset and comfort working with ambiguity.
