Access Coordinator provides support for Services Coordination of Interpreters and other Communication Access Services, serving as primary program staff for Communication Access Fund (CAF), and additional duties include support for KCDHH financial activities and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: *If a driver’s license is required, a copy must be sent to your recruiter following the interview.*
One year of experience in providing direction necessary to implement the objectives of an agency, program or organizational unit. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency.
Preferred Qualifications: Fluency in American Sign Language is preferred. Knowledge and understanding of Deaf Culture, communication accessibility and communication options, and assistive devices and/or accessible technology. A full grasp of how state government functions along with operation of programs and services will benefit. Good understanding of how interpreters/communication access services providers are trained, qualified, certified or registered will be helpful.
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
Security Clearance: A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.
Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate: A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas. Applicants (including non-residents) who receive a formal job offer for a State job, are required to obtain a valid Tax Clearance within ten (10) days of the job offer. A Tax Clearance can be obtained through the Kansas Department of Revenue who reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas Tax Law.

Support for Services Coordination of Interpreters and Communication Access Services
Assist with services coordination component of KCDHH as this position has direct access to registry of interpreters and communication access services, and related duties include receiving/processing access/service requests, maintaining contacts and close relationships with individual interpreters, interpreting agencies/vendors and communication access services providers.
Primary Program Staff for Communication Access Fund
Function as a primary staff for Communication Access Fund (CAF) program. Assist with ensuring communication accessibility, needs assessment, eligibility for CAF program, and readiness awareness related to communication access services and other needs. Follow up on status of requests filled, confirmation of assignments, and contingencies.
Support KCDHH Financial Activities
Assist with KCDHH financial aspects. This role involves issuing invoices, processing receipts and payable invoices, paying the bills of KCDHH in a timely manner, ensuring account reconciliation, and tracking fees/submissions/related expenses.
Assist with various contracts and vendor transactions. This includes monitoring, tracking and processing all contract related purchases, reconciling monthly reports, reviewing and paying monthly invoices, and researching payments in SMART.
