ABL Relationship Manager

About This Role

Developing and maintaining strong client relationships within the Asset Based Lending (ABL) sector is central to this role, which involves managing complex portfolios and ensuring the viability of credit. The manager evaluates existing transactions, analyzes financial data and collateral, and makes recommendations to senior management and credit committees.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate all aspects of existing transactions for an assigned portfolio of clients to determine credit viability
• Make appropriate recommendations to senior management and credit committee
• Conduct independent analysis of financial data, collateral trends, industry knowledge, and economic conditions
• Ascertain key credit issues/mitigates and identify risks in current loan structures
• Handle a mix of primarily direct and agent deals with multiple bank participants, focusing on larger, highly complex transactions
• Develop working relationships with borrowers or agent banks and business partners
• Work closely with third-party turnaround consultants and other professional appraisal/liquidator firms
• Set client relationship strategy
• Prepare monthly and quarterly portfolio management reports
• Develop critical financial analysis
• Process client credit requests, amendments, waivers, and renewals in a timely manner
• Review client field exams, appraisals, collateral trends, and reporting
• Identify and proactively recommend appropriate reserves, ineligible changes, and credit solutions
• Work closely with consultants on distressed credits
• Ensure overall collateral reporting is timely and accurate
• Ensure field exams are performed timely
• Visit clients and oversee banker calling efforts to cross-sell Bank products to enhance relationships and revenue
• Present annual credit reviews to Senior Management and Credit Committee, ensuring proper risk analysis and rating recommendations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
• 8+ years of experience in Asset-Based Lending with demonstrated success in managing complex portfolios
