About the Opportunity
1Finity, a Fujitsu company launched in July 2025 by consolidating Fujitsu’s network-related businesses, is building the future of global telecommunications infrastructure. We are looking for 3GPP RAN standardization researchers with expertise in either RAN1 or RAN2 to help shape future 6G radio standards and create technologies that support global business growth.
In these roles, you will work with global industry experts to turn advanced R&D ideas into adopted standards and valuable standard-essential patent opportunities.
Position Summary
Depending on your expertise, you will work within either 3GPP RAN1 or RAN2 to help shape 6G standards and strengthen the intellectual property foundation for future mobile business.
Key Responsibilities
Drive 6G intellectual property creation and 3GPP RAN standardization, focusing on either RAN1 or RAN2.
- Develop and execute 6G RAN standardization strategies, focusing on either RAN1 or RAN2.
- Monitor 6G technology trends, identify promising technical themes, and translate advanced R&D ideas into clear 3GPP technical contributions.
- Prepare and lead technical proposals and discussions toward agreement in 3GPP meetings.
- Lead standard-related patent filings and create strong patents aligned with core standard specifications.
- Refine patent claims based on agreed standard specifications and collaborate with global standardization teams, including overseas research labs.

Required Qualifications
Must-Have
- Experience in contributing technical documents to 3GPP RAN standardization meetings.
- Experience in filing standard-related patents or evaluating their claim scope in relation to standard specifications.
- Strong communication skills for international technical discussions.
- Business-level English proficiency.
Preferred
- Experience as a Rapporteur or Feature Lead in 3GPP RAN standardization meetings.
- Experience related to academic conferences or paper presentations.
- Japanese language proficiency is a plus (business-level or above desired).
Base Location : Fujitsu Technology Park, Kawasaki, Japan.
Work type: Hybrid work arrangement available.
