3D Artist

About This Role

This 3D Artist / 3D Generalist role involves creating the visual universe for a new cooperative multiplayer 3D game with a stylized art direction. The position is with an independent French studio specializing in video game development and suits an artist interested in creating props, environments, and various 3D elements.

Responsibilities

• Design and model stylized low-poly 3D assets (objects, accessories, environments, etc.)
• Create varied props and environment elements adapted to the game's universe
• Participate in the design and creation of complete 3D environments
• Produce models optimized for real-time use
• Perform UV unwrapping, texturing, and create necessary materials for models
• Maintain visual consistency between different assets, particularly in terms of proportions, colors, and level of detail
• Prepare models for integration into Godot

Requirements

• Good command of 3D modeling software
• Ability to create stylized, readable low-poly models suitable for video games
• Interest in creating props, sets, and 3D environments
• Knowledge of basic UV unwrapping and texturing techniques
• Sense of composition, proportions, colors, and artistic coherence
• Ability to work from visual references and adhere to a common artistic direction
• General understanding of video game performance constraints
• Autonomy and creativity

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of Godot and 3D asset integration
• Skills in rigging and animation
• Experience in creating modular environments
• Experience in independent game development
• Knowledge of PBR workflows and baking
