3D Artist

About This Role

This full-time on-site role is for a 3D generalist who can work across a wide range of 3DCG production areas, including modelling, rigging, animation, and other related tasks. The artist will primarily model and animate 3D assets, CG backgrounds for video content, and 3DCG visuals for Japanese games, characters, and other products.

Responsibilities

• Model and animate 3D assets, CG backgrounds for video content, and 3DCG visuals for Japanese games, characters, and other products
• Utilize knowledge of Japanese characters and animation to create 3D models, backgrounds, and animations specialized in Japanese culture
• Create high-quality 3D models and animations
• Handle a wide range of projects, including characters for video games, animations, promotional videos, and commercials
• Participate in game-related production using technologies and platforms such as Unreal Engine and Roblox, depending on the project
• Explore new production methods, including AI-assisted and generative AI tools, to improve creativity and efficiency
• Collaborate with overseas team members and stakeholders to produce creative works
• Provide efficient data conversion from software like Blender

Requirements

• At least a diploma from vocational training/short course, a bachelor's degree in arts/design/creative multimedia, or an equivalent qualification
• Knowledge of 3D software such as Blender
• Basic to intermediate skills in 3D modelling, rigging, skinning, setup, and animation
• Good interpersonal communication skills in English
• A portfolio showcasing your work and skills

Nice to have:

• Knowledge and experience in animation
• Knowledge of Unreal Engine and Unity
• Interest in game-related projects and game development, particularly using Unreal Engine and platforms such as Roblox
• Familiarity with programming languages like C# related to game development
• Knowledge of physical simulations and the creation and adjustment of particles
• An open-minded attitude toward generative AI and AI-assisted tools, with a willingness to explore and incorporate them into creative workflows when appropriate
