About the role

About The Role The role is responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective FPSO solutions. This position supports project delivery through naval architectural analyses and design activities that comply with contractual requirements, classification society rules, international regulations, and company standards while supporting operational and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Select and apply appropriate engineering methods and procedures to optimize naval architecture designs in accordance with international codes, classification society requirements, and project standards.
  • Deliver assigned engineering scopes in compliance with contractual requirements and project objectives, ensuring technical quality and completeness.
  • Perform Intact Stability Calculations, Damage Stability Assessments, Hydrostatic Analyses and Hull Form Evaluations.
  • Utilize engineering software such as NAPA, SEASAFE, or equivalent tools to support naval architectural studies and assessments.
  • Prepare technical deliverables including Stability Booklets, Lightship Data Reports, Class Approval Documentation and Client Submission Packages.
  • Review and interpret requirements related to IMO Regulations, Classification Society Rules, Freeboard Requirements, Marine Safety Standards and FPSO Stability Criteria.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical assessments, and safety reviews.
  • Apply lessons learned and assess the impact of engineering changes across system interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain engineering drawings, layouts, and design documentation using AutoCAD and/or E3D.
  • Plan and execute assigned engineering activities in accordance with agreed schedules and project milestones.
  • Coordinate interfaces with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Naval Architecture or equivalent engineering discipline with formal coursework in Naval Architecture Engineering.

Experience Required

  • Experience in FPSO, offshore floating units, shipbuilding, or Oil & Gas projects, with exposure to naval architecture and marine engineering activities.
  • Exposure to accommodation and living quarters engineering, vessel layout development, ship arrangements, and marine operations would be considered an advantage.
  • Working knowledge of offshore floating production facilities, including FPSOs, FPS, FPUs, and Semi-Submersibles, with an understanding of their design considerations and operational requirements.
  • Familiarity with Classification Society rules, IMO regulations, offshore engineering practices, and applicable design standards related to naval architecture and marine systems.
  • Experience with naval architecture and engineering software such as NAPA, SEASAFE, AutoCAD, and/or E3D would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
