About Wohnstift Rathsberg in Erlangen

Welcome to Wohnstift Rathsberg, where people can grow old with dignity and, precisely because of that, live with joy. It is this philosophy of the senior residence, inaugurated by Herbert Guhr in Erlangen in 1967, that must be put into practice here every day. To be self-determined in every situation in life – that is not a matter of course. That is why the Wohnstift offers its residents an infrastructure that goes far beyond the requirements. Do you know of a senior residence that offers its residents a swimming pool and a fitness room, provides computer courses and an in-house medical center? Do you know of a senior residence that not only serves meals daily in a hotel-level restaurant but also delivers its upscale cuisine directly to your room – morning, noon, and evening? Where a café in the clouds awaits its guests with cake, coffee, a cozy atmosphere, and a gigantic view? Where a hairdresser and a supermarket are within walking distance – without the risk of getting caught in a downpour? Where someone is awake 24 hours a day, seven days a week, watching over the well-being of the residents? Where floor ladies and nurses come directly to your own apartment door to check on things, of course, only if desired? Where the use of all services and amenities is voluntary? Where you decide yourself where your bed is placed and what your apartment looks like? Where diverse group activities maintain mental and physical fitness and bring people together communally? And are you aware of any other institution for seniors where its own concert hall brings great artists and musicians to the stage and music-loving people together once a week? The founders' convictions still hold true today. Over the decades, the Wohnstift has further developed, improved, and adapted its concept to the circumstances of the time.
