Wheatsville Co-Op

About Wheatsville Co-Op

Wheatsville is a full service, natural foods cooperative grocery store that has been serving the central Austin community since 1976. We are the only retail food cooperative in Texas and have over 24,000 invested owners who participate democratically and financially in the co-op. After starting our first store in 1976 with unpaid volunteers affectionately known as “the turn-ups”, we are proud to have realized our dream of opening a second store in 2013. Voted Austin Chronicle’s Readers Poll “Best Neighborhood Grocery” for 11 years, Wheatsville is proud to create a self-reliant, self-empowering community of people that will grow and promote a transformation of society toward cooperation, justice and non-exploitation.
