360° BIO – From vegetable cultivation to regenerative energy WESTHOF BIO has been producing tasty, healthy organic vegetables in western Schleswig-Holstein for over 30 years – right on the doorstep of the Wadden Sea World Heritage Site. Fresh North Sea wind and good, nutrient-rich soils shape this landscape and create perfect conditions for the vegetables grown on an area of over 1000 hectares. In addition to ecological farming, the company's activities extend from the further processing and trade of organic fresh and organic frozen vegetables to the generation of regenerative energy – for a sustainable future. The largest organic vegetable growing area in Europe has now developed around the Westhof, as it is a reliable partner for many organic producers in the region as a buyer. The central focus of all actions is ecological farming in harmony with nature and natural cycles. The goal is to give back to nature as much as is taken from it. In order to operate energy-neutrally, the WESTHOF BIO Group relies on a symbiotic energy and nutrient cycle. Every kilowatt-hour consumed in the production cycle is produced in-house using solar energy, wind power, and biogas, thus ensuring energy-neutral operations.
