India's largest Education Finance Platform. WeMakeScholars was founded in 2015 as a Scholarship search Engine, creating the world’s biggest database of international scholarships. The initiative is funded and supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Govt. of India under the Digital India Campaign in association with BITS Pilani, where WeMakeScholars was incubated as a start-up. In 2016, Education loans support was initiated as a free-of-cost service. This service started with public banks like State Bank of India and Bank of Baroda, but was later extended to Private banks and NBFCs. WeMakeScholars helps study abroad aspirants arrange finance through Scholarships and Education Loans. As of 2019, more than a million students have registered on WeMakeScholars.com for Scholarships and about 100,000 students have requested for education loan help. History: The portal was founded by grads of The University of Sheffield, UK. The idea originated with the struggle the founders had while searching for scholarships for their masters in 2012. Later, one received the prestigious UK Govt. Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Scholarship which fully funded his studies, including visa, travel, tuition fee, monthly stipend and a meeting with David Cameron at 10 Downing Street. The other received the “Developing Solutions Scholarship”. This led them to start an online community to fill the gap between opportunities and students. The community grew exponentially to 160K members in a year and members requested to build a dedicated platform to keep the content more organised. Hence, WeMakeScholars.com was born. WeMakeScholars has been endorsed by many Global Leaders including Helen Clark, former PM of New Zealand and current Admin of United Nations DP.
