Founded on a legacy that began in 1971, Vella traces its roots to Mr. A. P. D. Abeyrathne’s visionary purchase of the Uva Halpewatte Tea Estate and Factory in Sri Lanka. Together with his wife, Mrs. Nalini Rajapaksha, he transformed a passion for Ceylon tea into a family-driven enterprise built on quality, integrity, and innovation. What began as a single tea estate has grown into Vella Group, a diversified conglomerate with a strong presence across the Tea, Leisure, and Adventure sectors.
