Being yourself. You wanted that when you were younger, you want that now, and you will still want that when you are older. But once you reach old age, habits and wishes often take a back seat to the way your support is organized. We disagree with that. We believe that all seniors in Valkenswaard and Leende should be able to be themselves. At Valkenhof, we work towards this in three ways: 1. We offer more than just care. When someone of advanced age encounters limitations, the first thought is often: more care is needed. Sometimes this is true. But often, a less drastic solution can also achieve a lot. A good structure to fill the day meaningfully, for example. At Valkenhof, we therefore offer advice and support on many more fronts than just care. 2. We support you at home for as long as possible. A move to a nursing home may seem unavoidable when care at home becomes more complicated or intensive. But even though we do our job excellently and with love: life never feels like home there. That is why we offer support to postpone that life-changing step for as long as possible. For example, with intensive care at home and in your own neighborhood. 3. We stimulate living together. Being old is not a disease. It is a phase of life. The ailments of old age are inevitable. And if you are forgetful, confused, and unsteady? You are still allowed to be yourself. As a community, we should not push seniors to the sidelines. They benefit from a place in the midst of life. That is why we help create places where people live together and look out for each other.
