About Universidade Católica de Brasília

The Universidade Católica de Brasília is a philanthropic, Catholic, private Brazilian higher education institution located in the city of Taguatinga, in the Federal District. It is administered by UBEC - União Brasileira de Educação Católica, an association founded in 1972. Created in 1974, the Faculdade Católica de Ciências Humanas (FCCH) was the first teaching unit offering three courses: Economics, Administration, and Pedagogy. Over the years, the Faculty organized itself into a structure of teaching and values, whose foundation became increasingly solid, which allowed the installation of the Integrated Faculties of Católica de Brasília. Fifteen years later, Católica was recognized by the Ministry of Education as a University, and still maintained in its essence the promotion of knowledge without neglecting spirituality based on Christian ethics. Today, affectionately known as "Católica" or simply UCB, it offers 37 in-person undergraduate courses, 10 master's programs, and five doctorates. With its own resources or from external funders, it has 100 research projects involving undergraduate and postgraduate students and more than 50 extension projects. UCB offers its students the best facilities and structures. Additionally, it offers distance learning (EAD) with centers spread across 27 states and other countries, such as Japan and the United States.
