About UNIVERSIDAD XOCHICALCO

Over 40 years, the University has traveled a path full of challenges, opportunities, and satisfactions, with a highly positive balance. It began activities on a single campus in rented facilities; today it is an Educational System with 3 campuses, with its own facilities. It started with 3 classrooms, 2 laboratories, and 1 operating room; today it has 86 classrooms and 31 workshops and laboratories, 3 auditoriums, 3 cafeterias, 3 libraries with a collection of nearly 12,500 volumes of books and multimedia, 3 computer centers that provide modern service to the academic and administrative community, 1 indoor gym, and 2 amphitheaters; a residential complex with 96 double rooms for out-of-town students. Its first academic community consisted of 60 students, 9 professors, 12 support staff, and 3 administrators; today it includes 2,007 students, 458 professors, 136 support staff, and 52 administrators, including the Rector. There are many satisfactions derived from contributing to the formation of better people and professionals, and there are also many challenges yet to be consolidated. As a result of its participatory strategic planning process, by the year 2015, Universidad Xochicalco aspires to be the best private Educational System in Northwestern Mexico, recognized for its quality education, its humanistic and innovative educational model, and for its integral graduates, committed to the well-being of their community and successful in the national and international arena. For this purpose, it defined 9 major objectives to be achieved by 2015 and established 152 quality indicators based on international academic standards.
