About Unis-Cite

The Unis-Cité association was born from the dream that one day all young people in France would dedicate a stage of their lives to the community, and that this civic experience would be a time for self-construction and openness to others in their differences. Since 1995, Unis-Cité has been both the pioneering and specialized association for youth Civic Service. Unis-Cité inspired the law on Civic Service of March 2010 and has since shared its expertise to help generalize Civic Service in France and foster the emergence of a generation of more supportive, committed citizens who respect differences. Present in more than fifty cities in France, Unis-Cité has already mobilized and supported 35,000 young people, including more than 12,000 this year. Our actions: Mobilize young people from different educational levels, social, cultural, and belief backgrounds, on Civic Service missions of 6 to 9 months carried out in teams for practical experience of diversity. Support the development of universal civic service through information, advice, training, and operational support for associative or public organizations wishing to host volunteers. Give companies the opportunity to support civic initiatives by mobilizing their employees on concrete solidarity days. Our organization: a network of 260 professionals and 500 volunteers committed across 55 branches in all regions of mainland France, alongside 150 local authorities, 1000 associations, and 150 partner companies and foundations.
