Everyone gets there smoothly, green, and safely. That is Trafikverket's vision - a vision that means we must create the conditions for a robust and efficient transport system that is energy-efficient and safe. At the same time, we must ensure that travelers and transporters have good opportunities to carry out their journeys and transports. Trafikverket is responsible for the comprehensive long-term infrastructure planning of road traffic, rail traffic, shipping, and aviation. Our assignment also includes the construction, operation, and maintenance of state roads and railways. We are community developers who plan for the whole in the transport system. For society to develop, transports must function. Increased accessibility is becoming increasingly important. Our assignment means that we are the ones who ensure daily that roads and railway tracks are passable, that grade-separated intersections are built, that railway stations are made accessible for people with disabilities, that combined terminals are developed, that travelers and road users receive fast and relevant traffic information, that driving tests for driver's licenses are carried out, and everything else required to manage and develop smart infrastructure. The goal is an accessible and safe transport system that takes into account the environment and health. To reach the goal, we need to work closely with the rest of society. Together we can make life easier throughout Sweden.
