Movia is Denmark's largest transport company. We advise and serve the Capital Region, the Region Zealand, and the 45 municipalities in the two regions on matters of public transport and mobility. We are a public company and operate under the Public Transport Act. At Movia, over 300 planners, economists, engineers, architects, and consultants work to achieve our goals of more and more satisfied passengers, greener public transport, more mobility, and strengthened flexible transport. Additionally, our Traffic Service employees maintain bus stops and conduct ticket inspections. As an employee at Movia, you become part of a constantly relevant agenda, and you help create the solutions that make public transport attractive and increasingly environmentally friendly. Together with municipalities and regions, we ensure that buses and local trains are considered when new urban and business areas are planned – and we improve bus accessibility in collaboration with municipalities, regions, and the operators responsible for the actual bus operations. Movia is organized with a political board consisting of nine members and a representative body with one representative from each of the 45 municipalities and two regions. Daily management is handled by the executive board. Our name, "Movia", is composed of the two Latin words "movere", meaning "to move", and "via", meaning "way, route, or journey".
