About Therapeutic Living Centers for the Blind

Therapeutic Living Centers for the Blind is dedicated to caring for the lifetime needs of people challenged by developmental disabilities and blindness or visual impairment. TLC staff and board members believe in the value of each individual and promote the philosophy that each participant can be assisted to achieve his or her full potential. TLC was founded in 1975 by eight dedicated families who were committed to the idea of a happy home life for their children. By personally signing the note on TLC’s first home, they opened the door to California’s first residence for this unique population and gave their adult children the specialized care and independence they deserved. Over the years, we have broadened our services to include infants and children with multiple disabilities. Because of our founding families’ commitment, TLC now serves over 300 individuals and is the only agency in southern California to offer lifetime care for individuals who are blind or visually impaired with developmental disabilities.
