We are a global, specialty medical device company with a rich and proud heritage of developing and manufacturing innovative medical devices to serve physicians and their patients. Theragenics Corporation was founded in 1981 by scientists from Georgia Tech (Georgia Institute of Technology), with a primary mission to develop radiological devices to treat cancer. As a recognized global leader in the manufacture of radioactive brachytherapy seeds for the treatment of localized cancers, primarily prostate cancer, circa 1987, Theragenics substantially diversified its operations beginning in 2005 by expanding into the surgical products business with the acquisition of CP Medical, Inc., and since 2006 has continued to expand its portfolio of businesses with the acquisitions of Galt Medical Corp., NeedleTech Products, Inc., Concert Medical, and Arrotek. Theragenics Corporation and its subsidiaries have seven manufacturing facilities: Theragenics Corporation and Brachytherapy are located in Buford, Georgia. CP Medical, Inc. located in Norcross, Georgia. Galt Medical Corp. located in Alajuela, Costa Rica and Garland, Texas. NeedleTech Products, Inc. located in North Attleboro, Massachusetts. Concert Medical located in Norwell, Massachusetts. Arrotek located in Collooney, Co Sligo, Ireland.
