As the Foundation for University Admissions (known as Hochschulstart), we are tasked with fairly and transparently allocating university places on behalf of the federal states and universities, and coordinating the admission process digitally. This includes degree programs with a nationwide numerus clausus, such as medicine, as well as those with a local NC, like law. Educational equity is a central concern for us and all stakeholders. Our team consists of approximately 150 employees. The majority work at our main location in Dortmund; about 20 IT developers are employed at our branch in Berlin. The future is exciting. In the winter semester 2020/21, we processed 2.2 million applications – a new record. More than 150 universities with 1800 degree programs participated in our coordination process; and the trend is rising. The next generation of our online-based system is already in the starting blocks – the Dialogorientierte Serviceverfahren (DoSV) 2.0. To meet the challenges, we are regularly looking for motivated employees who want to actively shape the future allocation of university places in Germany with us; especially in the areas of IT test management and software development.
