Noise nuisance, young people using drugs on the street, youth groups hanging around in porches and leaving a mess. Everyone has experienced youth nuisance at some point. Youth nuisance makes people feel unsafe in their own neighborhood and can lead to a neighborhood or area deteriorating. Stichting Aanpak Overlast Amsterdam (SAOA) wants this to stop. The nuisance must end! Since 2006, SAOA has been actively tackling nuisance from youth groups and young people. SAOA fills the gap between the police and youth work and intervenes quickly and effectively when nuisance occurs. Addressing youth nuisance requires special and continuous attention. SAOA provides that attention, resulting in a safe and livable street or neighborhood. SAOA's approach has proven effective in all districts of Amsterdam and Diemen.
