STEVIG treats adults with mild intellectual disabilities and psychiatric and/or behavioral problems. This can be done clinically as well as outpatient and ambulatory. When someone has had contact with justice, we also offer forensic care. STEVIG is part of Dichterbij. We work in the regions of North Brabant, Limburg, and Rijk van Nijmegen. Working method At STEVIG, you work closely with the client, their environment, and your colleagues. Your colleagues include support workers, psychiatric nurse practitioners, art therapists, psychologists, and psychiatrists. You look at the client and their environment, what do they need to feel better? Together with the client, their environment, and your colleagues, you create a treatment plan that you will work with. During treatment, you examine the biological, psychological, and social factors that determine the client's behavior. With our treatment, we aim for the client to feel better and thus be able to work again or be with their family. And that they understand their situation so they learn their limits. Their environment is also important, think of family or neighbors who support them or lend a hand when needed. We prefer to help the client in their familiar environment. How the client feels is not only determined by biological factors such as their IQ. Also by psychological and social factors. So by how their environment reacts to them or what is expected of them and how they deal with it. Do you see it too?
