About Stairmed

Stairmed is building minimally invasive, chronically stable brain–machine interfaces for clinical use. Our systems feature ultrafine, ultraflexible electrodes — as narrow as one-fifth the width of a human hair — and a built-in brain implant engineered to be exceptionally thin that does not require the complete removal of a section of the skull, further minimizing tissue damage. Together, these innovations allow for stable, high-fidelity neural recording over long periods. We’re designing BMIs that respect the brain’s biology while expanding its capability — with a mission to decode intention, restore function, and eventually bring brain–machine interfaces into everyday life of the public.
