SOGIPA (Sociedade de Ginástica Porto Alegre) was founded in 1867 by 25 German immigrants who brought the Turner culture, translated as "gymnastics practice", from their homeland (Hamburg). Today, with over 80,000 m² of area, SOGIPA combines intense social and cultural life with high-level sports, in an environment with swimming pools, event spaces, a convenience gallery, and a Sports Center. For all these reasons, it is easy to understand why SOGIPA is a club for the whole year and for all ages, combining social interaction, sports, culture, and entertainment. The Club's purpose is the SOCIAL INTEGRATION of its members and families through SPORTS PRACTICE, SOCIAL, RECREATIONAL, AND CIVIC-CULTURAL ACTIVITIES.
