The Société du Canal Seine-Nord Europe (SCSNE) is a local public establishment specifically set up to manage the construction of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal, a waterway connecting the Seine and Oise river basins to the European broad-gauge network between Compiègne (Oise) and Aubencheul-au-Bac (Nord). This public establishment is also tasked with promoting economic development related to this infrastructure. The project is designed in close collaboration with the territories, enabling strong integration and consideration of everyone's expectations. The establishment can provide technical support to local authorities or developers for operations directly linked to the canal's infrastructure and support the economic development of port areas located along the river infrastructure concerned. The SCSNE is managed by a Supervisory Board. This board makes the major decisions regarding the project. It is chaired by Xavier Bertrand, president of the Hauts-de-France region. Nadège Lefèbvre, president of the Oise department, is the vice-chairperson. The Supervisory Board consists of representatives from the Hauts-de-France Region, the departments of Nord, Oise, Pas-de-Calais, and Somme, as well as state representatives, the prefect of the Hauts-de-France Region, a deputy, and a senator. Europe is also represented. Within the Seine-Nord Europe Canal Company, the Management Board implements the decisions of the Supervisory Board. It comprises 3 members and constitutes the general management of the project company. The team of the Seine-Nord Europe Canal Company consists in 2024 of nearly ninety people. A sharing of resources in terms of human resources and logistics is carried out with VNF (Voies Navigable des France) for economic reasons. The company's registered office is located in Compiègne (Oise).
