Skara is a meeting place, past and present – it offers culture, knowledge, food, music, and nature in a pleasantly balanced mix. The municipality has just over 19,000 inhabitants and a business community characterized by trade, tourism, the music industry, food production, logistics, and service and educational organizations that are close to the countryside and agriculture. Our most important mission is to create opportunities and conditions for the best possible everyday life for our residents of Skara. Approximately 1850 people work in the municipality in many different professional roles. Everyone is important for us to be able to provide the best possible service to the residents. We are responsible for childcare, schools, and elderly care, urban planning, individual and family care, environment, culture, recreation, and more.
