The Haute-Corse Fire and Rescue Service - SIS Cismonte (SIS2B) - is a public administrative establishment under the dual authority of the Departmental Prefect and the Chairman of the Board of Directors. As part of its responsibilities (Article L. 1424-2 of the General Code of Local Authorities), SIS2B carries out the following missions: Prevention and Assessment of civil security risks; Preparation of safeguard measures and Organization of rescue resources; Protection of people, property, and the environment; Emergency Rescue of Persons (SUAP) victims of accidents, incidents, or disasters, as well as their evacuation. In return for a contribution to costs, SIS2B may also carry out interventions not directly related to its missions (hymenoptera nests, blocked elevators and doors, interventions on ICPE...). SIS2B intervenes particularly in case of a shortage of private carriers, at the request of the Medical Regulation of the Center 15, and by Agreement with the Bastia Hospital, the seat of SAMU. With 20 barracks in 236 communes of the department, SIS2B relies on 1500 Firefighters to offer an operational response adapted to the risks encountered, and to ensure more than 9200 annual interventions.
