Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data (SRIBD) is established with the approval of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and is an independent legal entity. SRIBD's establishment relies on the Peacock team under Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Committee. It is committed to establishing a world-class big data research and development center, to maximize the utilization of the rich data resources of the National Supercomputing Center in Shenzhen, Shenzhen municipal governments, and local enterprises. It is also committed to establishing a world-class big data public service platform, in precision medical, future communications, green transport, intelligent city, and other aspects, to contribute to Shenzhen, Guangdong, and China's scientific research, industrial development, and government decision-making. SRIBD is located on the campus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) in Longgang District, Shenzhen. The team is composed of world-renowned data scientists with extensive experience in information processing, data analysis, and industrial cooperation. The scientists include academicians, thousands of people planning experts, Jie Qing, and Pearl River scholars. Team members all have doctoral degrees, overseas study experience, and high achievements in the optimization of theory and algorithm design, machine learning, large-scale data processing, and statistical signal processing. SRIBD and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) have an agreement on jointly training postgraduate and undergraduate students. The relevant students will be directly involved in research projects under SRIBD. For particularly outstanding academic personnel, there is an opportunity to apply for a joint position at SRIBD and the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen).
