Maintained by business owners in the commerce of goods and services, the Serviço Social do Comércio - Sesc - is a private entity that aims to provide well-being and quality of life for commerce workers, their families, and society. Located in all Brazilian states, Sesc promotes quality education as a primary guideline for citizen development. It values local cultural diversity and promotes activities for the improvement of daily living conditions for workers in the commerce, services, and tourism sectors. Education, Health, Culture, and Leisure are Sesc's areas of operation, which we call Programs. Within these four Programs, there are various projects and actions, developed by the National Department, executed by the Regional Departments and their units, according to the local reality of each. With actions covering all age groups and infrastructure that encompasses its areas of operation, Sesc's main characteristic is social responsibility. It offers environmental health and education programs, social tourism, special programs for children and the elderly, projects to combat hunger and food waste, digital inclusion, and many others.
