Service Civique Solidarité Seniors is an unprecedented national mobilization, launched in December 2020 by the Ministry of Autonomy and the Secretary of State for Youth and Engagement, the Malakoff Humanis group as part of the management of Agirc-Arrco supplementary retirement, with all stakeholders in aging and Civic Service. SC2S is now part of the Agirc-Arrco community programs. Its ambition is to combat the isolation of elderly people living in institutions or at home through intergenerational solidarity. Since 2020, 10,000 young volunteers have committed to assisting 240,000 seniors. What is Civic Service? It is a voluntary commitment open to all young people aged 16 to 25 (and up to 30 for young people with disabilities) wishing to dedicate 6 to 12 months of their lives to serving others, through missions of general interest. Young volunteers are compensated and benefit from social coverage covered by the State.
