Sergio Escobar y Cia. Ltda., was founded in 1985 as a family business dedicated to vehicle sales. Its founder, Sergio Escobar Muñoz, gained his experience in the automotive sector through his role as Commercial Manager at CREDISUR and DIVESA, pioneers in vehicle dealerships and automotive credit. Leveraging this experience, he established the company as an official dealership for two prestigious global automotive brands, NISSAN and SUZUKI. The company also offers a division for parts from these represented brands, as well as an authorized technical service. Several years later, to solidify the company's family character, his children, María Soledad Escobar Miranda (a lawyer) and Sergio Escobar Miranda (a commercial engineer), joined the company in 1997. Their primary goal was to achieve market leadership in sales for the represented brands in the short term. In the same year, the company secured the representation of a third brand, MAZDA, which strengthened the company's image and its position in the Concepción automotive market. Between 1999 and 2000 marked the company's period of greatest growth, with the addition of three new representations. Additionally, branches were opened in Chillán (1999) and Los Ángeles (2000), along with a new denting and painting service. Subsequently, in September 2017, new facilities were opened in Osorno, offering the full line of business. Currently, with over 30 years of experience in the automotive market, Sergio Escobar y Cía. Ltda. holds a 16% market share in vehicle sales in the region.
