The Serviço Social da Construção Civil do Estado de São Paulo – Seconci-SP is a philanthropic, non-profit entity, founded in 1964 by industry employers to serve construction workers and their families. Its mission is to promote social assistance actions, including health, education, and related activities. With headquarters in the capital, it maintains Outpatient Units in ABC, Bauru, Campinas, Mogi das Cruzes, Piracicaba, Praia Grande, Ribeirão Preto, Riviera de São Lourenço, Santos, São José do Rio Preto, São José dos Campos, and Sorocaba, offering medical and dental consultations, exams, and support services. Through its experience in health and partnership with the State, it was invited in 1998 to join the first generation of Social Health Organizations (OSS). Today, Seconci-SP manages state public network hospitals: Hospital Geral de Itapecerica da Serra (HGIS), Hospital Estadual Vila Alpina (HEVA), Hospital Regional de Cotia (HRC), Hospital Estadual de Sapopemba (Hesap), Hospital Local de Sapopemba (HLS), Conjunto Hospitalar de Sorocaba (Hospital Leonor Mendes de Barros and Regional), and Hospital da Mulher (HM). It also manages nine Specialized Medical Outpatient Clinics (AMEs): “Dr. Luiz Roberto Barradas Barata”, Dr. Geraldo Bourroul, Caraguatatuba, Itapeva, Lorena, Piracicaba, Rio Claro, São Vicente, and Taubaté, in addition to the Lucy Montoro Taubaté Rehabilitation Service, the State Service for Diagnostic Imaging (Sedi II), and the State Center for Storage and Distribution of Health Supplies (Ceadis). In the Municipality of São Paulo, it qualified as an OSS in 2006. Since 2008, through the Superintendence of Health Care (SAS), it has managed the Penha and Ermelino Matarazzo Territories, with 77 health facilities. It also provides multidisciplinary teams for emergency rooms, ICUs, and administrative sectors of Dr. Ignácio de Proença Gouvêa and Dr. Benedicto Montenegro Hospitals.
