About SECON GmbH

Since its founding in 2010, SECON GmbH has worked exclusively with natural refrigerants and has deliberately avoided the use of synthetic refrigerants. SECON is thus one of the pioneers in the use of flammable refrigerants and has a safety concept that has been proven over many years. As a German manufacturer, SECON develops and manufactures high-quality, safe, and energy-efficient cooling and heating systems for industrial and commercial applications. Its product portfolio includes air- and water-cooled chillers, drycoolers as complementary units, CO₂ deep-freeze units, as well as air-to-water, water-to-water, brine-to-water, and booster heat pumps. The systems are well established in numerous applications across the manufacturing sector and critical infrastructure. SECON systems are not off-the-shelf products, but are custom-designed to meet specific customer or project requirements. During development, we take into account current EU F-gas regulations, the EN 378 safety standard, and ambitious efficiency targets. The focus is on R290 (propane) as the refrigerant, supplemented by R1270 (propene), R600a (isobutane), R600 (n-butane), R744 (CO₂) for subcritical refrigeration applications, and R170 (ethane) for special low-temperature applications. SECON thus offers one of the broadest portfolios of natural refrigerants for a variety of temperature and capacity ranges. All refrigerants used are characterized by a very low global warming potential and are PFAS-free. Our goal is to design cooling and heating processes that are environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, and safe, while ensuring their long-term economic viability.
