About Santa Casa Recife

The Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Recife is a non-profit civil organization, under the Archdiocese of Olinda and Recife, offering services in Health, Education, and Social Assistance. For over a century, it has been transforming the reality of hundreds of people, with its main activities including: Free health services, as recommended by the SUS; Training, qualification, and rehabilitation for people with visual impairments; Social protection for the elderly, through a Long-Term Care Institution (ILP); Socio-educational activities for children and adolescents in situations of social vulnerability. Currently, the entity operates the Hospital Santo Amaro (HSA), the Antônio Pessoa de Queiroz Institute for the Blind (IAPQ), and the Padre Venâncio Geriatric Center. Furthermore, Santa Casa also develops projects for Therapeutic Residences, Accommodation Units, Home Care Service (SAD), Family Health Support Nucleus (NASF), and Oral Health, in partnership with the Recife City Hall.
