The founding of the Society of Ladies Beneficence, in 1921, gave rise to one of the best and most recognized healthcare institutions in the world. With strong foundations in philanthropy, our history was written by many hands: patients, collaborators, clinical staff, benefactors, and society. The excellence of Sírio-Libanês is the result of 100 years of experience. From the hospital's inauguration in 1965, a high-tech structure, with specialized teams, investment in teaching and research, and various pioneering and innovative initiatives strengthens the institution each year for the best diagnosis, treatment, health promotion, and quality of life. Much more than care, Sírio-Libanês has always sought innovation and scientific research. That's why it incorporated the Sírio-Libanês Teaching and Research structure into its hospital routine. We share knowledge in postgraduate programs lato sensu and stricto sensu, medical and multiprofessional residency programs, update courses (continuing and short-term), Distance Learning (EAD), internships, seminars, and scientific meetings. Social responsibility, which is in the institution's DNA, is manifested through integration with the community, promoted by the Embrace Your Neighborhood project; the execution of projects for the Ministry of Health, via the Program for the Development of the Unified Health System (PROADI-SUS); the management of five public health facilities in the State of São Paulo, such as the Grajaú General Hospital and the Menino Jesus Municipal Children's Hospital, via the Sírio-Libanês Social Responsibility Institute (IRSSL); and the care of patients referred by the SUS in two Philanthropy Outpatient Clinics.
