About Royal SMIT Transformers B.V.

Royal SMIT Transformers B.V. is part of the SGB-SMIT Group, the transformer specialist in Europe. Royal SMIT Transformers B.V. has been designing, producing, and testing large and heavy power transformers, phase shifting transformers, and reactors for almost a hundred years. Our transformers are among the largest in the world. We develop these in Nijmegen, from where we ship them to the port of Rotterdam within one day. To guarantee the very high quality standard of transformers, we use the unique single-winding-clamping construction for large power transformers. Although the weight and dimensions of transformers limit developments, our technicians are constantly pushing their boundaries. They go to great lengths to produce ever-larger production units, with higher voltages and capacities. Our proven technology means we continue to innovate.
