Royal Smilde is an independent, international family business that has been active in the food industry for over 160 years. What began as a butcher shop in Heerenveen has grown into a modern organization with six production locations, an innovation center, and sales offices in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, England, and West Africa. Our organization consists of two business units: Smilde Foods produces margarines, oils, fats, salads, sauces, quiches, and meal components for professionals and consumers in Europe, Africa, and the Far East. Brands such as Fano and Bebo are part of this. Smilde Bakery supplies an innovative range of bakery products such as bake-off snacks, seasonal pastries, and baking mixes for the European and American markets under the Pruvé and Homemade brands. Under the Smilde Futura banner, our innovation platform at Kitchen Republic in Amsterdam, we develop new product concepts inspired by global food trends. The Tapas Factory is also part of Royal Smilde, with contemporary aperitif snacks under the Party Bites brand. We actively invest in sustainable and plant-based alternatives. With stakes in The Flower Farm and Seaweed Food Solutions, we contribute to palm oil-free, future-proof products that help reduce our customers' CO₂ footprint.
