The Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus is a foundation hospital that goes back to a private initiative by Robert Bosch in 1936. The Robert Bosch Foundation is the sponsor of the hospital, which opened at its current location on the Burgholzhof in 1973. The foundation and the hospital's management bodies jointly determine the medical-therapeutic-nursing orientation. The foundation enables medical research and, in individual cases, finances innovative investments that are otherwise not covered. Since 1978, the Robert-Bosch-Krankenhaus has been one of the academic teaching hospitals of the University of Tübingen. With 1,018 beds, it admits over 42,000 patients annually as inpatients at its Schillerhöhe Clinic in Gerlingen and Charlottenhaus Clinic in Stuttgart. Around 2,700 employees ensure that patients feel individually cared for.
