This family history began in 1928 with Bernhard Drees and the parent house "Drees" in Dortmund. Since the 1970s, the grandchildren of founder Bernhard Drees, Bernd and Hans-Georg Riepe, and their wives Rosemarie and Monika, have been in charge. Under their leadership, an expansion took place with new properties in Lünen, Herdecke, Unna, and Witten.
