Regionshospitalet Gødstrup is the Central Denmark Region's hospital for approximately 300,000 citizens in the municipalities of Herning, Holstebro, Ikast-Brande, Lemvig, Ringkøbing-Skjern, and Struer. In addition to Gødstrup, the hospital has clinics in Holstebro, Lemvig, Ringkøbing, and Tarm. There are approximately 3800 employees across the five locations, distributed among 22 clinical departments, five clinical service departments, and one service department, collectively managing 409 beds and a total operating budget of DKK 2.7 billion (2022). Regionshospitalet Gødstrup spans 148,000 m², cost DKK 3.2 billion in quality fund grants, and was built to consolidate the two regional hospitals in Herning and Holstebro – formerly Hospitalsenheden Vest – under one roof. Adjacent to Regionshospitalet Gødstrup is Regionspsykiatrien Gødstrup, which shares an emergency department with the somatic hospital.
