In 2020, RAPA proudly celebrates 100 years. The core competence of the technology and development company, based in Selb (Bavaria), is the customer-specific development and manufacturing of solenoid valves and valve systems. The medium-sized company sees itself as well-positioned for the future, as its system solutions in valve technology, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechatronics are in demand across many industries. Under the RAPA umbrella brand, the Automotive, Healthcare, and Industry divisions operate independently in their respective markets. Within the corporate group, common development platforms are used to maintain close integration in engineering. This shortens innovation cycles and allows market opportunities to be seized more quickly. Everything from a single source: RAPA offers customers services along the entire value chain – from the initial idea through customer-specific product development to series production. All RAPA solutions are smart, efficient, robust, and user-friendly. Another component of the company strategy is internationalization following the motto 'Locals for locals.' Since summer 2020, RAPA has had a representative office in Shanghai. The Asia team began with initial projects in the Automotive division and is also preparing a planned production facility in China, which is scheduled to go into operation in 2023. Currently, around 1000 people work at RAPA. The corporate group is managed by Dr. Roman Pausch (a member of the fourth generation of founders) and Karin Wolf. The headquarters are in Selb; a plant in Auburn, Alabama, has existed since 2004.
