As one of the largest companies in the district of Leiria, Racentro is also recognized nationally as the agri-food manufacturing unit with the highest monthly production, holding a 9.3% market share in a sector with 107 operating companies. It is therefore considered a reference player in the vast and complex market of livestock professionals, with the production and distribution of compound animal feed. Racentro has been in the market since the 1980s, joining the Lusiaves Group in 1997 with a significant capital increase to €1,200,000. In the same year, the company underwent a total restructuring at the production level, designing and building a manufacturing unit utilizing the most modern technology. However, it was only at the turn of the new millennium that the Lusiaves Group acquired the company entirely, instilling a new dynamic and new modernization investments. In the same year, Racentro became the first company in the sector to certify its food safety system, and in 2003 it was the first company in the sector to obtain environmental licensing.
