About PT Star Cosmos

PT STAR COSMOS was founded in 1976 by Mr. Ir. Alam Surjaputra. The word Cosmos comes from the ancient Greek word KOSMOS, meaning life in the universe. The mission at that time was to provide an alternative to Japanese household products. In 1976, we also established our first factory in Tangerang, which operated to produce and assemble: fans, rice storage, juicers, blenders, and toasters. We conducted a technology transfer with Goldstar (now LG) in terms of technical collaboration in 1991 to further improve our quality and work systems in producing Cosmos brand products. In 1996, we successfully obtained SNI (Indonesian National Standard) recognition for Rice Storage products. From this SNI, all rice storage in circulation in Indonesia is required to refer to the standard that Cosmos has set. In 2003, we received a Gold Award from Indonesia Good Design for Rice Storage products (Cosmos Bio). This award was given by Indonesia Good Design Selections in collaboration with the Department of Industry and Trade and signed directly by the Minister of Industry and Trade. In 2004, we again received two Gold Awards from Indonesia Good Design simultaneously for the Juicer 366 product in the home appliances electric category and Waranca for non-electric. In 2005, we were the first fan producer in Indonesia to successfully obtain the Indonesian Safety Certificate (SNI). This certificate is recognition from the Indonesian Government for Cosmos products that have high quality and safety standards.
