About PT Meulaboh Power Generation

PT. Meulaboh Power Generation is a joint venture established by China Datang Overseas Investment Co., Ltd., Indonesia's PT PP (Persero) Tbk, and Indonesia's PT. Sumber Daya Sewatama. The plant is located near Meulaboh City, Aceh Special Region, Indonesia, and is an IPP project tendered by the Indonesian State Electricity Company (PLN). It involves the construction of two 225MW coal-fired generator units, with construction officially commencing in December 2019. The project operates under a BOOT model and is scheduled to begin commercial operations in December 2023. The Nagan Raya 3&4 Power Plant Project is the first project explored by China Datang Group in the Southeast Asian market through international procurement. The consortium formed by China Datang Overseas Investment, PT PP (Persero), and PT Sumberdaya Sewatama jointly established PT Meulaboh Power Generation. The project is located in Nagan Raya Regency, Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province, through an IPP project procurement held by the State Electricity Company (PLN) with a capacity of two units of 225MW subcritical coal-fired power plants, which officially entered the construction phase in December 2019. This project adopts the BOOT mode and is planned to start commercial operation in December 2023.
