Prime Drilling GmbH specializes in the development and manufacturing of modern horizontal drilling rigs. Founded in 1999 by Werner Wurm and Frank Auringer, the company has grown steadily over the years. Today, our company is known worldwide for the highest competence and constant innovation in the design and development of HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) drilling systems. Currently, high-quality, robust horizontal drilling rigs and components are manufactured on 4,000 m² of production space and 800 m² of office space. To meet the special requirements and wishes of national and international clients, our 70 highly qualified employees draw on decades of experience, in-depth knowledge, and innovative ideas in the construction of horizontal drilling rigs. Our expert staff is organized in a flat hierarchy and contributes significantly to the fact that the order books have been continuously full since the company was founded. Every single drilling rig that has left the plant in Wenden, Sauerland so far has been specially tailored to the respective customer and their particular requirements. Everything is manufactured according to customer wishes. The buyers of our products want their rig and the design to be individual and thus unique in the world – that is precisely our strength, explains Ralf Kiesow, International Sales and Service Director, the company's success. The manufactured horizontal drilling rigs enable customers to lay pipelines without trenches, which are used for transporting gas and water or for supplying electricity and communication. The machines start a drill from the surface, which is guided precisely under obstacles such as rivers, railway tracks, or roads. These bores can extend up to a distance of 3,000 meters and have a diameter of up to 1,800 mm. Compared to conventional methods, the use of HDD drilling rigs is cheaper, saves time, and is far less damaging to the environment. The sophisticated technology of the rigs has already proven itself on all continents of the world, always demonstrating the highest reliability. The most adverse climatic conditions to which the Prime Drilling machines are exposed are also safely mastered – whether in the cold of the Arctic, the heat of the African Sahara, or the humid Brazilian Amazon region. To date, more than 150 horizontal directional drilling rigs from Prime Drilling are in successful operation worldwide.
