PrimaCARE Hospitalist Position PrimaCARE is an 80-physician (and 20+ midlevel providers) multispecialty group in southeast Massachusetts, seeking to add several Hospitalists to our established team of 12 providers (9 physicians and 3 mid-levels). As a group, PrimaCARE is medically- and financially-solid and is in a growth phase as we proactively prepare for the anticipated changes in healthcare delivery. PrimaCARE admits patients to two hospitals in Fall River, Massachusetts – Charlton Memorial Hospital (350 beds) and St. Anne’s Hospital (150 beds). Both hospitals have Emergency Rooms and ICU’s, but Intensivists generally manage the complex ICU patients. St. Anne’s also has an eICU for night-time ICU coverage. Although there may be ICU admissions, there are no requirements to perform invasive procedures or intubations. The Boston hospitals are resources for complex patients who require transfer to a tertiary care center. The position involves only hospital work, with no clinic or outpatient responsibilities. The Hospitalists generally work one week and are off one week, alternating between the two hospitals. We are the primary Hospitalist group at St. Anne’s Hospital, and a PrimaCARE patient care tower is currently being built for our patients. Nocturnist programs are being developed at both hospitals in order to ease the night workload. For those Hospitalists interested in remaining productive during your weeks off, opportunities may exist for nocturnist or Walk-in clinic shifts. This pay would be added to your regular salary. Salary is competitive, and you are eligible for a bonus pool after 1 year and for stockholder status in 3 years with minimal buy-in. Malpractice and CME are covered and a 401K is available. PrimaCARE is an affiliate of Steward Healthcare for contracting purposes, but in entirely physician-owned and managed. We participate in all major national and regional healthcare quality initiatives. We will soon be adding a web-based charge-capture and billing system for our Hospitalists, compatible with smart-phones and iPads, in order to maximize efficiency. Fall River is in a lovely area of the country, surrounded by water of various sorts. We are 20 minutes from Providence, Rhode Island, an hour from Boston, and 30 minutes from Cape Cod.
