About Portugal com ACNUR

Portugal com ACNUR, the national partner of the UN Refugee Agency, has been working since 2021 to raise awareness and funds from society in Portugal, with the aim of supporting the humanitarian aid programs of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) worldwide, in the areas of nutrition, medical care, safe drinking water and sanitation, education, shelter and basic infrastructure, legal assistance, international protection, among other essential services. UNHCR is the world's leading agency for the protection of forcibly displaced people, with a presence in 128 countries and 75 years of work. Since its creation in 1951, UNHCR has helped more than 50 million people and has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize twice, in 1954 and 1981.
